About me:

I am a BACP-registered counsellor / psychotherapist and Specialist Mentor offering short or long term work at flexible times during the day and evenings.

At the heart of my work is the intention to provide a welcoming, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can feel comfortable and safe to explore at your own pace those issues and concerns that are making life difficult for you.

My qualifications include a PhD from the University of Cambridge, encompassing Literature, Psychoanalysis, and Existential Philosophy. I have held lecturing and research positions at the Universities of Cambridge and Aberdeen.

I trained as a counsellor / psychotherapist at the University of East Anglia where I completed the BACP accredited postgraduate training in counselling, followed by the training in focusing-oriented psychotherapy. I have many years of experience in both counselling / psychotherapy and Specialist Mentoring, especially in connection to Mental Health, Autism / Aspergers, and ADHD.

People come to see me for a wide variety of reasons, mainly for depression and anxiety and an inability to cope with the demands of their everyday lives; but also, for example, for addictions, bereavement, life-crises, and communication or relationship issues, to name but a few.

Currently, apart from working privately, I also work in a higher education setting.
